EPCOT After Dark β Legacy of Leal Video Vault
All good Disney days eventually reach that moment when the sun disappears, the lights begin to glow, and the park you’ve spent all day exploring suddenly feels brand new again.
For the final installment of our Springing Into Flower & Garden at EPCOT series, that’s exactly where we find ourselves.
This series has taken us back into the Legacy of Leal Video Vault to revisit our 2024 Walt Disney World trip, when my wife and I brought our two youngest boys to Disney to celebrate their birthdays. We’ve ridden some of our favorite attractions, met characters, wandered through the festival, and taken in countless incredible topiaries.
Now it’s time to experience Flower & Garden after dark.
π΄ Eating Our Way Around Flower & Garden
You can’t properly experience an EPCOT festival without doing a little eating.
As evening settles over the park, we sample a variety of offerings from around the Flower & Garden Festival. Trying different foods as you make your way around EPCOT has become such a huge part of the festival experience, and it’s one of the things that makes wandering World Showcase so much fun.
Sometimes the destination is simply whatever booth smells good next.
πΏ The Topiaries After Dark
We’ve spent plenty of time throughout this series admiring the incredible character topiaries during the day, but nighttime gives them an entirely different personality.
Once the lights come on, familiar displays suddenly take on a new look. The colors, shadows, and lighting transform them, giving us a great excuse to revisit a few favorites before the night is over.
It’s another reminder that sometimes it’s worth walking past the same thing twice at Disney.
π A Rat’s-Eye View of Paris
Our nighttime adventure also takes us back to the France Pavilion for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
We shrink down to Remy’s size and scurry through Gusteau’s restaurant for one more attraction before continuing our journey around World Showcase.
There’s something particularly cool about stepping back outside into the pavilion at night. EPCOT’s World Showcase is already built around transporting you somewhere else, but after dark, the illusion gets even stronger.
π A New World Showcase Favorite
Somewhere along the way on this trip, we also discovered what would become our new favorite World Showcase pavilion.
Naturally, that meant we had to eat there.
One of my favorite things about revisiting Walt Disney World is discovering something new in a place you’ve already visited countless times. A restaurant, attraction, quiet corner, or entire pavilion can suddenly click and become part of the family’s Disney rotation from that point forward.
This trip gave us one of those discoveries.
π EPCOT After Dark
After the rides, topiaries, and food, there really isn’t a better finale than simply walking.
EPCOT at night is one of my favorite versions of Walt Disney World. World Showcase glows across the lagoon, Spaceship Earth illuminates the park in the distance, and everything seems to slow down just enough to appreciate where you are.
So that’s how we end this series β strolling through the park together and soaking up the last bit of springtime Disney magic.
And looking back at footage that spent years sitting untouched in the Video Vault, that’s a pretty fitting ending.
These weren’t lost memories. They were stories waiting for their time.
